When It's Love
This song, from the OU812 album, was almost named "How Do You Know When It's Love?" This was the first track written for the album and the second single released. It later appeared on Live: Right Here, Right Now and Best of Volume 1.
The track was recorded using a Roland D-50, an Oberheim OB-8, a Roland TXC-816 rack, a digital DX7 synthesizer, and a six-foot 1920 Steinway grand piano. Both pianos were outfitted with a Forte MIDI modification by Jim Wilson. The hammers were treated with lacquer to make them sound brighter during recording. For the solo, Eddie used a Fender Stratocaster through a Marshall amplifier.
The video for the song was filmed during a three-day break on the Monsters of Rock/OU812 Tour. The band flew to California to spend some time with their families, and spent a day and a half shooting this video at a small bar in Southern California. Alex's old drum technician was contacted and he made all the equipment arrangements for the band prior to their arrival. The video was produced by Anthony Payne and Kim Dempster and directed by Jeremiah Chechik.
