This is the 25 song demo from which the tracks for Van Halen were picked. The instrumental tracks were recorded in one day, and the vocals were recorded the next day. Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love was written after the demo was recorded.

The demo was recorded in 1977.  On some bootlegs, the date 10/26/77 is given as the date the demo was recorded. This date is almost certainly not the date it was recorded. No one officially connected with the demo has spoken publicly about the details behind the recording.
