Pleasure Dome

This song, from the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge album, was pieced together from three different riffs, including a lick Eddie had written on the OU812 tour and an intro he had come up with a few years earlier. Arranging the pieces into a song was mostly the work of Alex Van Halen.

This track also features Eddie "chickin' pickin'," a technique frequently used in country and bluegrass music. The guitarist had used this technique only once before, on Finish What Ya Started. For this track, Eddie used a prototype wood-body Steinberger, and Mike used his 1964 Fender Jazz bass.
