A remixed single for this song was recorded during a break in the Van Halen III tour when Alex was injured. Warner Brothers asked for a new version of the song for the "adult contemporary" market and Eddie worked some serious overtime to get it right. He even invited a female friend of Gary's to sing background vocals on the remix. A copy of the remix was put up for sale on Ebay for $256. The band soon after released two videos for the song on van-halen.com made by David Bertinelli, which included one for the remixed version.

The working title for this song, while Sammy was still in the band, was "Returning of the Wish." That title was then used for a different song on Sammy’s solo album, Red Voodoo.
