Michael Anthony played a Music Man Stingray fretless bass on this track, from the Balance album, the first time a fretless bass was used on a Van Halen recording.

The original title of this song was "To Love Somebody." It was changed because another artist had already recorded a song with that title.

Eddie recorded this song through his Marshall into a Leslie provided by Matt Bruck, after he used it on the demo album for his band, Zen Boy.

The video for this song, parts of which were filmed atop a Los Angeles, CA, building, was produced by David Naylor and directed by Jeth Weinrich. Sammy considered it his favorite Van Halen video.
