Mike Post performed on the piano for this track, from the Van Halen III album, because he and Eddie wanted to record it live. The song was recorded in one take at Mike Post's studio.

Eddie used his Musser guitar to record his parts. He later commented in several interviews about how difficult it was to play the harmonics just right.

The title was picked to reflect the new era of the band with singer Gary Cherone.
