Humans Being

This song appeared first on the soundtrack for the movie Twister, then on Best of Volume 1.

Sammy's first lyrical attempt for Humans Being was titled "The Hot Zone." Director Jan de Bont, however, specifically requested no tornado content in the lyrics, so Hagar went back to work and came up with a new set of lyrics built around the title that Eddie came up with, "Humans Being." The song was mixed from 03/10/96 to 03/13/96.

There are two versions of the video for this song, filmed on 04/10/96, produced by Rhonda Hopkins, and directed by Rocky Schenck. The first, which debuted on MTV on 04/17/96, includes clips from the movie Twister interspersed throughout. The second, included on the band's Video Hits Volume 1, does not include the Twister footage.

If you look closely, near the end of the second guitar solo, just as Eddie begins a tapped passage, you'll notice that a string on his Wolfgang is broken.
