Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do)

This song, from the Balance album, was inspired by the suicide death of Nirvana's Kurt Cobain and how it affected Sammy Hagar.

The video for this song premiered on MTV New Year's Eve at midnight in Times Square. This was the first video from the album. With the exception of one person (the main character), all of the troubled youths appearing in this film were portrayed by real gang members. The segments with the band were filmed at Hollywood National Studios in Hollywood, CA. The video was directed by Peter Christopherson and produced by Catherine Finkenstaedt and Fiz Oliver.

On the day of filming, MTV interviewed the band for an upcoming MTV News segment, and Eddie gave an interview for Guitar for the Practicing Musician magazine.
